Server Management

How do I edit my posted server?

To edit your server listing, you need to be logged into the account that originally created the listing. Once logged in, navigate to your server's page and click the "Edit Server" button. You can modify:

  • Server description and features
  • Server tags and categories
  • Banner image and screenshots
  • Discord invite link
  • Website URL

Note: The server IP address cannot be changed after initial creation for security reasons.

What does adding managers do?

Managers are additional users who can help administrate your server listing. When you add a manager:

  • They can edit your server's description, images, and links
  • They can respond to reviews and comments on your behalf
  • They can participate in premium bidding for your server
  • They receive notifications about your server's performance
  • They can view analytics and voting statistics

Managers cannot delete your server or remove other managers - only the original owner has these permissions.

How do I delete my server listing?

Only the original server owner can delete a listing. Go to your server's edit page and scroll to the bottom where you'll find a "Delete Server" option. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. All votes, comments, and premium bidding history will be lost.

Premium Bidding

How does premium bidding work?

Premium bidding is a competitive auction system for homepage spotlight placement:

  • Bidding Window: Every Sunday at 12:00 AM UTC, a new 7-day bidding period begins
  • Top 6 Winners: The 6 highest bidders when the window closes get featured placement
  • 7-Day Feature: Winners are showcased on the homepage for the entire following week
  • Payment: You're only charged if you win - bidding itself is free
  • Minimum Bid: Starting bids begin at $5 USD, with $1 minimum increments

When am I charged for bidding?

You are only charged if you're one of the top 6 bidders when the bidding window closes on Sunday at 11:59 PM UTC. Your saved payment method is automatically charged for your winning bid amount. If your payment fails, your spot goes to the next highest bidder.

Can I change or cancel my bid?

Yes! You can modify or withdraw your bid at any time before the bidding window closes. There's no penalty for changing your mind. Simply return to the bidding page and adjust your bid or click "Withdraw Bid" to remove it entirely.

What payment methods do you accept?

We use Stripe for payment processing and accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) and digital wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay. All transactions are processed in USD.

Are premium bid payments refundable?

No, all premium bidding payments are final and non-refundable. You are purchasing a digital advertising service for the upcoming week. Please bid responsibly and only what you can afford.

Technical Requirements

What plugins are needed on my server?

Currently, no special plugins are required to list your server. However, we recommend:

  • Query Plugins: Ensure your server responds to status queries for accurate player counts
  • MOTD Plugins: For custom server descriptions in the server list
  • Voting Plugins: While not required, they help reward players who vote for your server

Note: As Hytale is still in development, specific plugin requirements may be added once the game is released.

My server isn't showing the correct player count. Why?

Player count issues usually stem from server query problems. Ensure your server is properly configured to respond to status queries. Check that your firewall isn't blocking the query port and that your server software supports standard Minecraft-style queries (which Hytale is expected to support).

Can I list a server that isn't online yet?

Yes, you can list servers that are in development or not yet launched. However, the server will show as "Offline" until it begins accepting connections. We recommend waiting until your server is stable and ready for players before listing it for the best user experience.

Voting & Rankings

How often can users vote for my server?

Users can vote for each server once every 12 hours. We track votes by IP address and browser fingerprinting to prevent abuse while still allowing legitimate users from shared networks (like schools or offices) to vote.

How are servers ranked on the homepage?

Server rankings use a weighted algorithm that considers:

  • Total votes received (weighted by recency)
  • Current online player count
  • Server uptime and reliability
  • User engagement (comments, reviews)
  • Overall server quality score

Premium spotlight positions (top 6) are separate from organic rankings and determined by bidding.

Someone is botting votes for their server. What do I do?

We have automated systems to detect and remove fraudulent votes. If you suspect vote manipulation, please use our Report Content form with evidence. We take voting integrity seriously and will investigate all reports.

Discord Vote Bot

What is the Discord vote bot?

Our Discord bot sends real-time notifications to your Discord server whenever someone votes for your server on Hytale-Servers.Online. Each notification includes the voter's name, your server name, and your current total vote count.

How do I set up the bot?

Setting up the bot takes just a few steps:

  1. Go to your Dashboard and click the "Invite Vote Bot to Discord" button to add the bot to your Discord server.
  2. In your Discord server, use the /link-server command with your server's UUID. You can find your UUID on the Dashboard underneath your server's name and IP address.
  3. Use the /set-channel command to choose which channel receives vote notifications.

That's it. The bot will now post a notification every time someone votes for your server.

What commands are available?

  • /link-server [server_id] — Links your Hytale-Servers.Online listing to your Discord server using your server's UUID.
  • /set-channel [channel] — Sets which channel receives vote notifications.
  • /status — Shows your current bot configuration, linked server, and vote statistics.
  • /unlink-server — Disconnects your server and disables vote notifications.

Where do I find my server UUID?

Your server UUID is displayed on your Dashboard in small text underneath your server's name and IP address. Copy this value and use it with the /link-server command.

Can I use the bot in multiple Discord servers?

Each server listing can only be linked to one Discord server at a time. If you want to move notifications to a different Discord server, use /unlink-server in the current Discord server first, then invite the bot to the new one and link it again.

Account & General

Do I need an account to list a server?

Yes, you must create a free account to list a server. This allows you to manage your listing, edit server details, add managers, and participate in premium bidding. Accounts also help us prevent spam and maintain listing quality.

Is this website affiliated with Hypixel Studios?

No, we are an independent fan-run website and are not affiliated with Hypixel Studios or Riot Games. We're passionate fans of Hytale creating a community resource for when the game launches.

How do I report inappropriate content or servers?

Use our Report Content form to report servers that violate our terms of service. This includes servers with inappropriate content, scam operations, or those using bot voting. We review all reports within 24-48 hours.

Can I advertise my server outside of this platform?

Absolutely! We encourage server owners to promote their listings across social media, Discord, forums, and other platforms. Just remember that our voting cooldown prevents users from voting multiple times within 12 hours, regardless of how they find your server.
